Dawah around the World: A Return to Revolution Street

Assalamu Alaikum Wa RahmatuAllah wa Barakatu,

Welcome to today’s episode of Dawah around the World – A Return to Revolution Street.

On the 8th year anniversary from the birthplace of the Arab Spring revolutions, Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Tunisia organised a series of events and workshops on Al-Thawra Street, signifying the sacrifices and struggles the Muslim Ummah made, which included a rally led by the brothers on the main street.

It’s been 8 long years since our brother Muhammad Bouazizi set himself ablaze showing the utter failure of the Tunisian regime to care for the needs and security of its people. The Hizb held important discussions with the Ummah on key matters around the revolution, from the failure of the system with its causes to the only solution being from the Quran and the Sunnah with the practical implementation of Allah (swt)’s rules, laws and systems that can only come from the re-establishment of the Khilafah State based upon the method of the Prophethood.

A campaign was launched by Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Tunisia entitled ‘But who is better in judgment than Allah?’ with the aim to guide the people of Tunisia into having hope in politics derived from Islam to solve the daily problems they face due to the inability of their corrupt secular rulership to look after them. It was to give them the confidence in politics after experiencing distaste for the political system due to the manipulation and corruption of the opportunists competing for power and positions. It had the aim to also build and then guide the political thinking towards a radical solution to the problems of the Ummah and its liberation from all forms of colonialism and subordination, by re-establishing the political system in governance, economy and society on the basis of Islam and its legal provisions.

Brother Omar, member of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Tunisia, delivered a powerful speech to the audience that gathered on the street, explaining the importance of this campaign and the seriousness of everyone’s participation in this mission and duty. The Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir were distributing the party culture and campaign materials along Al-Thawra Street, sparking a series of deliberations with the people creating a buzzing atmosphere of dialogue and discussions with a turnout from different directions. The Ummah were engaged and showed great interest in the content of these interactions. Alhamdulillah!

The rally which was then led by the Hizb ut Tahrir Shabab sent out a strong message where slogans were shouted out such as, "Oh, shame! After the revolution, colonization," "Our leader forever, our master Mohammed." "Give us the youth of the proud Tunisia ... free our land from the abomination of secularism."

The words echoed down Al-Thawra Street, to send a firm and unified position from the Muslims of Tunisia that we know our success lies in obeying the commands of Allah (swt) and rejecting EVERYTHING that contends with that!

Brother Mohammed Ali bin Salem delivered a speech highlighting the crisis of depending upon the policies of the client rulers and how its high time to shun secularism and democracy and instead resume Islamic life by establishing the Khilafah State on the method of the Prophethood, which will save Tunisia and the Islamic Ummah from the evils of these Western imposed regimes.

The demonstration ended with a speech by Brother Tariq Rafie, who stressed that the anniversary of the revolution cannot just be a memory of the folklore, but rather it’s much more! It’s ALSO a date that reminds the ruling political class, that they were used and abused, beaten and bankrupted by the colonists. Yet, they never learn their lesson!

It is therefore upon the Ummah of Muhammad (saw) to realise to work earnestly against every obstacle and barrier to bring back themselves the honour that Allah Almighty has promised for His believers. He (swt) said,

( يٰۤـاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اسۡتَجِيۡبُوۡا لِلّٰهِ وَلِلرَّسُوۡلِ اِذَا دَعَاكُمۡ لِمَا يُحۡيِيۡكُمۡۚ وَاعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَحُوۡلُ بَيۡنَ الۡمَرۡءِ وَقَلۡبِهٖ وَاَنَّهٗۤ اِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُوۡنَ)

“O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.” [Surah Al-Anfaal: verse 24]
