| Tens of Thousands attend Hizb ut-Tahrir's Rajab address at Masjid Al-Aqsa |

On Friday 17th July 2009, corresponding to the 25th of Rajab 1430 Hijri, Hizb ut-Tahrir convened a large gathering following Friday prayers at Masjid Al-Aqsa. Tens of thousands of people attended and banners hung around the sacred precincts called for the return of the Khilafah which would establish the Deen and unite the Muslims.

On February 20 2009, corresponding to the 26th of Safar 1430 Hijri, Yilmaz Celik, the official spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Turkey, was released after the completion of his sentence. He was imprisoned on charges of membership of Hizb ut-Tahrir and working to replace the secular regime in Turkey with the rightly guided Khilafah state.
