The National Security Strategy (NSS) of Trump and Its Implications for the Islamic Ummah

News:

The National Security Strategy (NSS), released on Friday (5/12/2025), also called for balancing trade with China and deterring it from seizing Taiwan. But unlike the previous assessment, which was published during the Joe Biden presidency in 2022, the new NNS did not focus primarily on China or mark competition with Beijing as the top challenge for the US. Comment:

Trump’s strategy boils down to establishing a unilateral approach to international affairs and exploiting the world’s peoples and resources, using all means necessary to achieve this. This unilateral approach, dubbed “America First,” is clearly demonstrated in its handling of the Palestinian and Ukrainian issues.

In the case of the Palestinian issue, Trump marginalized the role of various international actors, including the Muslim World and the Palestinians themselves, and imposed his vision on the world without consulting any other actor. The role of these other actors was merely to implement the plan as Trump had outlined it. Regarding the Ukrainian issue, America conducted negotiations with Russia to end the war on American terms, ensuring its interests in Ukraine, without coordinating with either the European or even the Ukrainian side. Trump’s approach with Zelensky was harsh when he opposed his vision; he reprimanded him and later forced him to accept what America dictated.

The idea of plundering the world’s peoples and resources is clearly evident in the policy of supporting and consolidating the rule of tyrants and dictators in the Muslim World. This ensures their continued oppression of the Islamic Ummah, stifling its voice and preventing its liberation from Western colonialism and the establishment of the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood. Trump’s periodic raids on oil-rich countries, carrying sacks of gold back to Washington and New York, have become the epitome of this plundering of the Muslim world’s wealth. As for transforming the Department of Defense into a “Department of War,” this is the culmination of the heavy-handed policies Trump has implemented during his second presidential term.

Indeed, the new American security strategy is a significant shift from the Biden-era focus on China and its aggressive containment. There is an increased focus both the heartland of the Islamic Ummah, the Middle East, and the Deen of the Ummah, Islam. On Page 28, the National Security Strategy (NSS) states, “Middle East partners are demonstrating their commitment to combatting radicalism, a trendline American policy should continue to encourage.”

As for use of the term “radicalism,” it is a new emphasis, replacing the previous emphasis on the terms “extremism” and “terrorism.” For the American deep state, “radicalism” represents an idea that is linked to revolutionary change and the caliphate. The term was mentioned in this sense by the US Secretary of State on 2 December 2025, when he said, “Radical Islam has shown that their desire is not simply to occupy one part of the world and be happy with their own little caliphate; they want to expand.  It is a – it’s revolutionary in its nature.” As for the agents of Western colonialism in the Middle East, they are sparing no effort to assist Trump in his war against “radicalism.” So, the rulers of Muslims have already increased their surveillance and persecution of Islamic political expression, including the Khilafah project. It is an extensive cultural, legal and political campaign, to secure American colonialism in the Muslim World.

Moreover, the National Security Strategy (NSS) explicitly mentions the reasons for the importance of the Middle East to Washington, stating, “America will always have core interests in ensuring that Gulf energy supplies do not fall into the hands of an outright enemy, that the Strait of Hormuz remain open, that the Red Sea remain navigable, that the region not be an incubator or exporter of terror against American interests or the American homeland, and that Israel remain secure.”

Certainly, the Middle East has immense energy supplies, key waterways for trade and naval power, and a popular base that is against both American colonialism and its advance military base in the heart of the Islamic Ummah, the Jewish entity. Thus, it can be expected that the Muslims will face an increased assault on their Deen, in an attempt to prevent their liberation from American colonialism. This is besides pressure for normalization with the Jewish entity, and deployment of the armed forces of Muslims to prevent attacks on the Jewish entity.

As for the arena of normalization, the National Security Strategy (NSS) makes clear that the scope is not just the Middle East but the entire Muslim World. On Page 29, it states, “We also have a clear interest in expanding the Abraham Accords to more nations in the region and to other countries in the Muslim world.” Thus, the American war against the Deen of Muslims is not limited to the Middle East, but includes the lands of the entire Ummah, from Indonesia to Morocco!

O Muslims in General and their People of Power and Protection in Particular!

Trump has issued his security strategy and it contains a declaration of increasing the war against your Deen and your lands. Trumps knows well your immense resources, and your potential to challenge America, if you return to your Deen. Trump has made clear his intent, and has already launched new initiatives against you. So how must you respond?!

Goodness lies in expelling American colonialism from our lands. Goodness lies in the liberation (tahrir) of the Muslim World, from every form of colonialism, military, political, economic, cultural and legal. This will only happen by uprooting the rotten systems and agent rulers. The Islamic Ummah must mobilize for its interests, adopting Allah’s Shariah Law as guidance, and rally around a sincere, aware political leadership. Only then will the entire Muslim World emerge from loss and darkness, into guidance and light. Allah (swt) said,

[فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَالنُّورِ الَّذِي أَنزَلْنَا وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ]

“So believe in Allah and His Messenger and in the Light We have revealed. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.” [TMQ Surah At-Taghabun: 8].
