Security agencies of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank have continued a campaign of arrests targeting a number of activists and political opponents—including members and leaders of Hizb ut Tahrir—according to local sources.
The Committee of Families of Political Detainees stated that the campaign was accompanied by assaults and violations during the arrest operations and home raids. These arrests coincide with a crackdown that the Committee says targets Hizb ut Tahrir members and leaders, as well as other activists and political opponents; the Committee has demanded the release of the detainees and an end to political persecution.
Following these arrests, the Committee of Families of Political Detainees issued a statement condemning the "barbaric arrest campaign" targeting Hizb ut Tahrir members and leaders in the West Bank. The Committee stated that the arrests were carried out "due to their political stances and views," viewing them as a continuation of a policy of suppressing freedoms and stifling dissenting opinions.
The Committee added that, according to reports, the campaign was not limited to arrests alone; it also involved home raids, physical assaults on detainees and their family members, the intimidation of women and children, and the ransacking of property inside the homes. The committee demanded the immediate release of those it described as political detainees—as well as all others detained due to their views and stances—and called upon national forces and human rights organizations to intervene to halt the “policy of political persecution.” Meanwhile, the families of political detainees continue to organize protests and events demanding the release of their loved ones and an end to arrests based on political opinions and positions.

Hizb ut Tahrir in the Blessed Land of Palestine issued a leaflet on the 25th of Safar 1448 AH corresponding to Saturday, August 8, 2026 CE titled, “The Treacherous Palestinian Authority Follows Epstein’s Path to Bring Down the People of Palestine.”
The leaflet stated, “Our People in the Blessed Land: Islam, chastity, modesty, women’s proper covering, and the jilbab anger the kufar (disbelievers) and their allies. They have employed all their tools to remove the jilbab from our women and spread an atmosphere of ikhtilaat (mixing between our young men and women). Indeed, they are working toward something even more serious: making our sons and daughters lose their sense of morality and feeling. While those upon whom Allah’s anger has fallen shed our blood and desecrate Al-Aqsa Mosque and violate the sanctity of our homes, our sons and daughters are at mixed concerts and festivals and in stadium stands, swaying together in scenes that bring joy to the Jews and the enemies of Islam.” The leaflet also added, “Commanding what is right and forbidding what is wrong are among the rituals of Islam and the characteristics of believers: Allah (swt) said,
[وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَيُطِيعُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أُولَئِكَ سَيَرْحَمُهُمُ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ]
“The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those—Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.” [TMQ Surah At-Tawbah: 71]… The silence regarding the wrongdoing of the Palestinian Authority brings the anger of Allah and warns of destruction in this world and the Hereafter. The PA and its tools are targeting our homes, children, and women to strip them of the garment of piety. If you allow them to continue with what they seek, they will destroy our homes and ruin our children. Therefore, stand against their wrongdoing and reject their crimes so that you may succeed in this world and the Hereafter.”
