With deep sadness and sorrow, we mourn the passing of our honourable sister and exceptional Dawah carrier, dear to the hearts of all who knew her:

Gamze Gürsoy (Zehra Malik),

Member of the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir,

who departed to the Mercy of Allah (swt) on Friday, Shawwal 09, 1447 AH, corresponding to March 27, 2026 CE.

[وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُواْ إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ [“But give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them say, “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” [Al-Baqara: 155-156]. Sister Ghamze dedicated her life for almost a quarter of a century to calling people to the obedience of Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), and working for the establishment of the System of Islam, the Khilafah (Caliphate) based upon the method of the Prophethood, with insight and steadfastness upon the truth. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met due to her deep love and devotion to her Creator (swt) and her Deen, and virtuous personality. She was passionate about the affairs of the Muslims globally and a fierce opponent to any form of oppression or injustice in whichever land its presence was found. She did not bow to the storms, nor did her resolve weaken, nor her zeal wane, despite the hardships and trials she faced, including the sudden death of her beloved husband, leaving her to raise, nurture and care for her children alone, which she embraced with full devotion. Her determination and commitment to the Dawah remained unwavering and resolute throughout the various tests in her life, inspiring those who knew her.

She was a towering beacon, fearing no reproach in speaking the truth and carrying her noble Dawah for the sake of Allah (swt), and accepting of Allah’s Will. She delivered speeches at many local and international conferences, engaged in numerous online and offline discussions and authored countless articles for the sake of her Dawah. She was also keen to be a living example of the qualities of a Muslimah: a patient and loving mother and wife, a supportive and generous sister, and an exceptional mentor and teacher of the Deen; who always sought to improve herself and increase her closeness to her Lord (swt). She will be missed immensely by all who knew her.

We ask Allah Almighty, the Exalted, to bestow His Vast Mercy and Forgiveness upon our dear honourable sister, to honour her rank, and to grant her a place in Jannathul Ferdous with the Prophets, the Sahabah, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous - and how excellent are those companions! We also pray that He (swt) grants her family and loved ones a beautiful patience and solace, and magnifies their compensation for their loss. May Allah (swt) reward them greatly and console their grief. Allahumma Ameen.

[مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا]

“Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow [to the death], and among them is he who awaits [his chance]. And they did not alter [the terms of their commitment] by any alteration.” [Al-Ahzab: 23]
