Since Friday, 27/6/2025, media outlets have reported that Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki has agreed to train 50 thousand fighters from the Northern and River Nile states in advanced military training, based on a request submitted by the head of the Northern Entity, Mohamed Sayed Ahmed Al-Jakoumi, head of the Northern Track in the Juba Agreement for the Peace of Sudan.

We waited until Sunday, 29/6/2025, to see the government's reaction and its position on this disastrous news, and the response came shocking, as the head of the Northern Entity explained to an investigative press source that the army and security agencies had been notified about the training of these forces, and he said: “We are coordinating with them, and we cannot take any step without their approval”!

This announcement comes at a time when signs of Sudan's partition loom, with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) controlling the Darfur states and hinting at declaring a parallel government, and with regionalism and tribalism dominating political discourse and the entrenchment of power-sharing. At this time, Al-Burhan continues to raise the slogan, “A Militia for Every Region!” creating a new militia every morning! Even more dangerously, militias are training their members abroad — in Eritrea, and Al-Jakoumi’s announcement comes in this context!

We in Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan, based on this shocking news, affirm the following:

First: We have repeatedly warned of the danger of the proliferation of armed militias, that they are tools for the destruction of the state, and an entry point for the colonial kufar (disbelievers) seeking to fragment and tear Sudan apart through regionalism and racist tendencies. And here the absurd scene is completed by Northern Sudan now also having its own militia, just like the other regions of Sudan!

Second: Islam has prohibited fighting under tribal and ignorant banners. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

«وَمَنْ قَاتَلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عُـمِّيَّةٍ، يَغْضَبُ لِعَصَبَةٍ، أَوْ يَدْعُو إِلَى عَصَبَةٍ، أَوْ يَنْصُرُ عَصَبَةً، فَقُتِلَ فَقِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ»

“he who fights under a banner of ignorance* showing anger in support of party spirit, or summoning people to party spirit, or helping party spirit, and then is killed will be killed like those of pre-Islamic times (Jahiliiyah).”

Third: Talking about this or that militia being under the command of the army is merely throwing dust in the eyes. It always starts like this, then ends in calamity. We have the worst example in the RSF for the creation of militias.

Fourth: Through such actions, the government seeks to entrench the plan of blood borders, implementing the new American Sykes-Picot to tear apart what remains of Sudan.

It is obligatory upon the army to immediately start unifying all armed forces spread across the country under its banner alone, to make them one strong force capable of imposing the authority of the state, and then give the nusrah to Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the second Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood, to unify the Ummah on the basis of the great Islam, implement the rulings of Islam, and uproot the influence of the colonial kufar from our country and all Muslim lands.

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ]

“O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life.” [Al-Anfal:24]
