News Right Now: Between Two Fires

Last month, we saw our Quran being highly disrespected with the leader of a far-right Danish political Party burning a Mushaf in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm, Sweden. This atrocious action before being committed, was granted permission to enact by the Mayor of Hague with countless police and security guards present for protection – all in the name of ‘freedom to express.’ Without a doubt, the Ummah around the world were triggered and came out in their masses to protest in Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Bahrain, Indonesia, Syria, Lebanon and more. The message from many of the protests urged their governments and leaders to cut ties with or take harsh action towards those who disrespect our Holy book and contempt Islam. Our so-called Muslims leaders around the world stepped forward with weak condemnations and comments on how ‘shocked’ they were and how such actions only ‘hurt Muslims’ and preached the importance of “spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence, and rejecting hatred and extremism.” A firm warning and strong threat is what is truly required when such a vile action is committed by those who represent the angry and offended 2 billion Muslims around the world. They should have stood up and questioned how dare any authority permit such a heinous crime to happen and because it was allowed, they should CUT all TIES and relations. As this was unequivocally unacceptable!!

It’s very blatant that such belligerent and shameless Islamophobic actions have become increasingly common generally in the West, but in particular Sweden.

-Just last year, this same man planned and embarked on doing a Quran burning tour- with the permission of Swedish authorities.

-A research reported by many media outlets showed that an essay written by a Muslim student would receive lower grades.

-Muslim women are openly denied jobs due to their hijab/abaya.

-in 2021, we saw the upsurge of viral videos where young immigrant Muslims were deliberately taken from their parents by the social services and given for fostering to Christian and homosexual households. Some sources even said they were places with paedophiles. Where they were to become ‘secularized’ and ‘assimilated’

These are all products of the politics that have been endorsed with the demonization of the media. They are constantly highlighting Muslims as being terrorists or inhumane. They belittle the values and laws of Islam. Then you have the politicians come out and confirm all this. They purposely highlight events of attacks by Muslims – blaming Muslims and Islam, yet remain mute when attackers and non-Muslim. This is the behaviour we expect now from the West and should be far from surprised when such incidents occur. Anti-Islamic sentiments have been able to thrive in the climate created by the decades-long anti-Islamic policies of Western countries against Islam and Muslims.

It is crystal clear – these are all cheap tricks in order for us to give up on our beliefs and values and adopt their Western values. They expect us to nod our heads in agreement. They have a problem with Muslims and Islam because it is a comprehensive way of life that negates their FALSEHOOD! They want us to transgress the limits of Allah (swt). Whereas we want to live day in and day out for the pleasure of Allah SWT, and follow his commands. The Quran burning is a rejection of Allah’s commands and an action used to make us follow suit! They wish to intimidate us into submitting to their ways and strike that fear in our hearts! But Allah (swt) says,

(يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُطۡفِـُٔواْ نُورَ ٱللَّهِ بِأَفۡوَٰهِهِمۡ وَيَأۡبَى ٱللَّهُ إِلَّآ أَن يُتِمَّ نُورَهُۥ وَلَوۡ كَرِهَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ )

“They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light, although the disbelievers dislike it.” [9:32]

May Allah SWT protect us against his enemies and hasten the return of our shield, the Khilafah, to put an end to the burning and neglect of our Quran . Ameen
