The Main Source of Political Impasse in Afghanistan is the US itself for it Secures the US Interests Only!
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to Afghanistan to resolve the political disputes between Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah, but his meeting with them faced a flop. The State Department issued a statement criticizing the Afghan leaders: “Because this leadership failure poses a direct threat to the US national interests, effective immediately, the US government will initiate a review of the scope of our cooperation with Afghanistan. Among other steps, we are today announcing a responsible adjustment to our spending in Afghanistan and immediately reducing assistance by $1 billion this year. We are prepared to reduce by another $1 billion in 2021.”
Directly or indirectly, the US has always helped create problems and crises in a country, then has turned to exert pressure through military, political, and economic measures to guarantee its national interest, but finally has ostensibly demonstrated itself as if it is really trying to resolve the stalemates. Those who have been closely following political affairs in Afghanistan are well aware that the emerging political crisis is the result of the double-standard policies of the US with the Taliban, the Afghan government and Afghan leaders that have led to such dissections and political impasse.
As it is crystal clear that the former US Ambassador to Afghanistan, John Bass, used to exert pressure on the Independent Election Commission (IEC) during the election crisis. Correspondingly, the US Special Representative for Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad, has also intensified political divisions among Afghan leaders. Most importantly, the results of the Afghanistan presidential election, one of the main drivers of the current crisis, were announced through the green-light of the US as few American diplomats attended the inauguration ceremony of one of the factions.
However, the US has been maneuvering to portray the prevailing crisis in such a way as if the Afghans themselves are responsible for the entire dilemmas and crises while representing itself, like a caring mediator, striving to resolve the crisis. On the contrary, history has proven that over the past two decades, the US and its puppets in Afghanistan have always been pursuing the policy of ‘create turmoil and secure the interests’; hence, there is no real intention for addressing the political crisis. The following Afghan proverb would undeniably imply the US policies: “America is the potter, pot-seller and the pot-buyer.”
Hizb ut Tahrir once again calls on all influential tribal leaders, political leaders, the Taliban, former Mujahedeen and intuitive people that friendship with the US, NATO and other infidel states results in profound disgrace because genuine honor comes through implementation of Islam only. One should have learned lessons from occurrences in the course of forty years that great powers pursue their interests in Afghanistan only; thus, we should not happen to be exploited as their chess-men in such filthy games. The solutions they propose are ostentatious and temporary-based and do not help address the root causes of the Afghanistan crisis.
Instead, come and grab the strings of Allah (swt) (the Solutions of Islam), which is Urwat-ul-Wuthqa (the firmest hand-hold) that brings about political welfare and stability.
“Is it then he, who laid the foundation of his building on piety to Allah and His Good Pleasure, better, or he who laid the foundation of his building on an undetermined brink of a precipice ready to crumble down, so that it crumbled to pieces with him into the Fire of Hell. And Allah guides not the people who are the Zalimun (cruel, violent, proud, polytheist and wrong-doer).” [At-Tawba: 109]
