 News Right Now: In Ruins

Welcome to this week's episode ‘In Ruins’...

Anger in Egypt continues to rise as state authorities demolished at least 1,200 buildings last month under the pretext of curbing unlicensed construction. The destruction included a staggering 70 + mosques in Alexandria, Nour al-Islam in Bacous, Al-Oualin, Al-Fattah, Al-Nasr, Quba, and Qumbuz, and Al-Hamd, the largest mosque in the Abyss area of Mahmoudiya.

These mosques are irreplaceable given their cultural and religious significance to the residents of those areas. But aside from the mosques, entire townships have been razed to the ground, as has been along the Tayaran Road in Duwaiqa - and reports suggest that 3,700 families who now face abject poverty because of these demolitions alone, were made homeless in a matter of hours! Within minutes these people lost all their belongings, furniture, clothes, access to cooking facilities - and therefore food and water too... and devastatingly they have joined the nations impoverished, which is a third of the 100 million strong population.

Yet still, tens of thousands more citizens face the prospect of being forced out of the homes they have lived in for decades, as the authorities try to reclaim land that was not making enough money for the government given the extortionate rent and contractors fees which the people could barely ever afford to pay. Statistics on Egypt's homelessness pale in light of its reality, where tens of thousands of vulnerable families inhabit its overpopulated districts and slums. Whilst the suffering of people is real and significant Islamic sites are destroyed... president el Sisi predictably uses the situation to garner affection from the representatives of the Zionst entity for restoring Jewish temples and churches wherever possible.

A nineteenth century synagogue and library containing books dated back to the fifteenth century were not only saved, but are being restored... as will be another twelve Jewish temples that the remaining descendants of the early Jewish political elites are now demanding. Likewise churches and monasteries are being rebuilt and roads are detoured around them to preserve their sanctity at the expense of the public’s own convenience - as with the Wadi El-Rayan Monastery near Faiyum.

Sisi’s animosity to Islam and the Muslims is no secret as in 2017 he openly approved Trumps orders to “fight terrorism” by agreeing to fulfil whatever it takes to find a solution to his “issue of the century” meaning Trump’s ‘deal of the century’ an insidious continuation of the decades long US aspiration to broker a two state solution for Palestine.

El Sisi has also repeatedly infringed the rights and honour of his own Muslim population in Egypt, under this guise of ‘fighting terrorism’, using imprisonment and torture to control and weaken supporters of Islam, callers to it, and proponents of any alternative form of governance . Likewise he has ignored the cries of oppressed Muslims the world over, from Myanmar to Kashmir with this same excuse.. making him not only an ally of the enemies of Islam - but one of them. His approval of the USA and the Zionist entity’s global agencies and their collective plans against Islam and the Muslims, stems from the secular, capitalist world order... and highlights his own objectives of subjugating the Egyptian population to such a degree that they accept his oppressive policies, and the relegation of Islamic dictates in all forms of public and even private life.

O Muslims of Egypt, it is not meant for you to have a leader who declares war on Allah and His Messenger, and seeks to trick you out of your Deen and Dunya by introducing the same flawed monetary laws and individualistic behaviors that have destroyed the fabric of civil society in the West. You are the inheritors of a great Islamic heritage that the noble companion Amr bin al A’as bought to Egypt to replace the oppression of disbelief with the honourable rules of justice and uprightness in Islam - so how can you tolerate a ruler who wishes to remove the right of Islam to lead people, as well as the right of Palestinians from their own land.

Allah swt says,

“And who is more unjust than he who prevents (men) from the masjids of Allah, that His name should be remembered in them, and strives to ruin them? (As for) these, it was not proper for them that they should have entered them except in fear; they shall meet with disgrace in this world, and they shall have great chastisement in the hereafter”. [Surah Al Baqarah v 114]

O Muslims of Egypt, only the Khilafah system of governance will be invested in you enough that your lives, homes and places of worship and brothers are protected and saved from incompetence, negligence and outright destruction so adopt this project, which represents you and matches your nature and stems from your own creed, as there is no salvation for you without it.

“O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered” [Surah Al Anfal v 24]
