As Bangladesh prepares for elections, the current government has once again rushed to show their allegiance - but not to the Ummah that it supposedly serves - rather, to the colonial disbelieving nations.

The timing of these treacherous deals is purely political, because Prime Minister Hasina has complained of being locked out of power because she denied giving oil and gas to the United States back in 2001. Now, as election season looms, she and her government are determined to appease their masters at the expense of the Ummah.

Her role now is to advance India's interests in the region, at the direction of America, to contain China and serve as a delay the emergence of the Khilafah. Towards that end, she has arranged military drills with the US and Indian military, she has handed over the oil-gas fields of Bay of Bengal to US companies, and she has permitted India to use Mongla and Chittagong ports. Under pretenses of bilateral agreements and mutual cooperation, the Hasina government has opened the doors for India to invest 9 billion dollars in the Bangladeshi energy sector, deepening Bangladesh's economic, infrastructure,and reliance on the hostile Indian government.

The list of actions the government has taken highlights the subservient role she is playing. Crouching behind slogans of quote-unquote "economic development" lies the stark reality that Hasina is fortifying India's dominance in the region with not so much as a crumb in return!

While the Hasina government shamelessly boasts these large infrastructure projects, future events will prove that the real infrastructure and economic needs of the Ummah will remain neglected.

Every political thinker knows that quote-unquote "mega projects" are pure colonial inventions, intended to exert control and influence on the recipient nation. As if the colonialists' plots against the Ummah aren't bad enough, the government is willingly placing the colonial noose upon its own neck!

In response, Hizb-ut-Tahrir Bangladesh has led protests, published leaflets, and publicly exposed the colonial plans against the Muslims of Bangladesh, as well as the conspirators and traitors who knowingly betray the Ummah for cheap political gain.

Hizb-ut-Tahrir not only denounced the current government, but the BNP opposition party that is presenting itself as an alternative, while reality bears witness that they’re also playing the dirty political game of the colonialists.

The US has long announced a pivot strategy to South East Asia, relying heavily on India to thwart regional contenders. Bangladesh's strategic geopolitical location makes it an ideal target for the colonial schemes and not one politician from the secular political parties has devised a plan to protect the Ummah from these ploys.

Transforming Bangladesh from a recipient, indebted nation, to a regional powerhouse is simply a matter of political will. By the permission of Allah, should sincere Islamic politicians take leadership of the country, Bangladesh's vast human, financial, and natural resources would be employed to liberate not only Bangladesh, but the rest of the Ummah from the shackles of neo-colonialism and economic dependence.

It would invest in heavy industry and research and development projects that transform the economy of Bangladesh into a regional powerhouse, joining it with the rest of the Ummah so the Ummah could reclaim its strength from the colonial nations and their cronies.

By the will of Allah, the time is coming.
