The insurgency in Balochistan is almost as old as the country itself. It began in 1948 when the region was controversially – some say forcefully – annexed to become part of the newly formed Pakistan. Violent separatist uprisings, which were largely tribal-led, took place again in 1958, 1962 and 1973.

 AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made a statement on the International Day to Combat Islamophobia and said: "Wherever there are attacks against Islamic values, we see that there is an inhuman hatred targeting all humanity and the civilized world.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently declared that American airstrikes on Yemen’s Houthis are "doing the world a favor." Speaking on Face the Nation, he claimed the campaign aims to dismantle the Houthis’ ability to strike global shipping lanes and U.S. military vessels. President Trump echoed this stance, vowing “overwhelming lethal force” until the Houthis back down.

The speech of the Pakistan army chief comes amidst heightened attacks on security personnel in Balochistan and the tribal regions, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan. The common people are now fearing another civil war, as happened in 1971, when Bengal separated from Pakistan, and become Bangladesh.
