To commemorate the 105th anniversary of the dismantling of the Khilafah (Caliphate), the members of Hizb ut Tahrir held a rally and public address in the city of El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan, on Wednesday, 18 Rajab 1447 AH, corresponding to 7 January 2026 CE, in the square of Al-Salihin Market Mosque.

We note with concern proposed changes to legislation seeking to criminalise the Muslim community in the wake of the Bondi attack. We note with concern the lack of transparency regarding claims made against the Muslim community generally and Hizb ut Tahrir specifically — claims that have been repeated by both yourself and the Home Affairs Minister, 

The Saudi newspaper Al-Watan published an article on December 29/12/2025, titled: "The Daily Task of Controlling Followers," which was then republished by Al-Arabiya News Channel on its website on 31/12/2025. The article criticized the Muslims' joy over a widely circulated video of a Muslim preacher debating an atheist in India! It then used this event as a springboard to criticize political Islamic groups.

Media outlets, including Al Jazeera satellite channel, reported the statement of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Khalid bin Salman, on Saturday, 27/12/2025, in which he said: “The Southern Transitional Council in Yemen must end the escalation and withdraw its forces from the camps in the governorates of Hadramout and Al-Mahrah.”
