The foreign ministers of Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Iraq, Palestine, Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Malaysia, along with the Secretary-General of the Arab League, met in the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Wednesday to formulate a unified stance against the actions of the Jewish entity in Al-Quds.
The only outcome of this massive meeting was a statement in which the ministers condemned the escalation of the aggression by the Jewish entity in Al-Quds, as if with that they completed the job! They then agreed on a number of steps, including what they called supporting the steadfastness of the people of Al-Quds by providing development support and strengthening Palestinian institutions in Al-Quds. They shamelessly called on the international community and the Security Council to take action, even though they knew their position beforehand. Instead of taking action to support Al-Quds, they called, like individuals, for a joint diplomatic effort to mobilize an international stance and for launching a sustainable institutional mechanism that includes a media platform to document violations—a clear indication that they want a long-term mechanism! These are steps that don't even rise to the level of decisions made by directors of associations or heads of unions who have no real power!
There is no doubt that a meeting of this size, which included 14 countries that together, or even individually, could end the tragedy of all of Palestine and liberate Al-Quds and all of Palestine in an hour of the day. Yet it only resulted in a statement of condemnation and a call for media, documentation and diplomatic steps. This is intentional; on the one hand it suggests that Al-Quds is still present in the minds of the rulers, which misleads some Muslims, and on the other hand it contributes to keeping the issue of Palestine in the hands of these rulers so that it does not get in the hands of the Ummah and its armies, lest things get out of control and what they do not want happens.
This meeting is nothing more than a smokescreen to appease an Ummah seething with anger at the attacks on the Masra, site of the Prophet's Night Journey (saw), and its first Qibla. It sends reassuring messages to the Jewish entity that matters will not spiral out of control and will remain confined to the corridors of international institutions and treacherous regimes—regimes without which the Jewish entity would not exist, nor would it have survived for 78 years.
The liberation of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque does not require summits, meetings, or statements; rather, it requires the armies of the Ummah to liberate it from the usurping Jews. Allah (swt) says:
“O believers! What is the matter with you that when you are asked to march forth in the cause of Allah, you cling firmly to ˹your˺ land? Do you prefer the life of this world over the Hereafter? The enjoyment of this worldly life is insignificant compared to that of the Hereafter” [At-Tawbah: 38].
