Press Release
Same Gender Marriage Campaign, Rotten Fruit from the Adoption of Democracy and Human Rights

The spread of photographs of same-gender marriages conducted by two men in Bali arouses criticism and reactions of rejection. Local government and customary elders, members of Parliament and generally people consider it as misconduct, violating the norms and perpetrators deserve sanctions. This confirms that same-gender marriage was rejected and is illegal.

However, many are unaware that the behavior of the accursed Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) have spread in such a way in the community. The number of actors and community support them continues to grow. In the 2015 UNDP report, 'Being LGBT in Asia', it reported there were 119 supporters of LGBT organizations spread across almost all provinces in Indonesia. They use various ways to gain the recognition and acceptance of their deviations. In fact, they continue to influence policy-making in order to have a legal basis to justify such behavior.

In response to these conditions, Muslimah Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia stated:

1. All components of society must be aware of the danger in the form of outbreaks of LGBT behavior. Photos of same-gender marriage in Bali is only a signal that LGBT has more energy to campaign for their behavior due to the support of social and political conditions in Indonesia. People in society which is now increasingly permissive towards deviant behavior, and the adoptions of freedom- human rights as consequences of a democratic system are two causes of the growing LGBT movement and the growing threat of damage they can cause to society.

2. The rejection of same-gender marriage should be followed by the eradication of the disease from the root. It can be done by discarding the democratic system, remove the ideology of freedom-human rights from the existence and promoting a culture of enjoining the ma'ruf (good) and forbidding the evil in society. Without them, the law which currently bans same-gender marriage will soon change with the legalization of same-gender marriage because of the global flows that support LGBT issues. Naudzu billahi.

3. The Islamic Shariah and the Khilafah "Caliphate" state have a series of Ahkaam to combat LGBT deviant behavior completely. There are five ways to overcome LGBT behavior. They are (a) Islam obliges the state play a major role in fostering individual piety of the people that have fortress against deviant behavior such as LGBT that is categorized as great sin. (b) Through upbringing in the family and the educational curriculum, Islam orders the strengthening of self-identity as male and female. Males are prohibited from resembling females, and vice versa. (c) Islamic Shariah prevents the growth and development of deviant behaviors by separating the seedbed of boys and girls; and to provide the social rules among and between genders. (d) Islam ordered the state to eliminate sexual stimulation of the public including pornography and porno-action. Similarly any form of impressions and the like that displays behaviors towards LGBT or close to it also will be eliminated. (e) Islam also prescribes penalties for curative (curing), eliminating the LGBT and break the cycle of society by applying the death penalty for sodomy (LGBT) in both subjects. Rasulullah (saw) said:

«من وجدتموه يعمل عمل قوم لوط فاقتلوا الفاعل والمفعول به»

"Whoever you find committing the people of Lut, then kill the culprit". [Tirmidhi: 1456, Abu Dawud: 4462, Ibn Majah: 2561 and Ahmad: 2727].

Therefore, anyone who wants a clean society, filled with courtesy, dignity, honor and peace will demand the application of Islamic law in this country to generate human life in a glorious civilization under the shade of the Khilafah "Caliphate" upon the method of the Prophethood.
