Hizb ut Tahrir is Neither a Terrorist Organization Nor Limited To Central Asia.
It is an Ummah-Wide Political Party, Working to Unify the Entire Muslim World under the Second Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly Guided Caliphate)

On 6 January 2026, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed a conference regarding counter-terrorism, stating that it “is the only purpose of this press conference, and I would request that we remain focused on counterterrorism as terrorism is the biggest threat that is being faced by the state of Pakistan right now.” Within this conference, he took care to mention Hizb ut Tahrir, whilst misinforming the people twice, by firstly claiming it is a terrorist organization, and then claiming that it is limited to Central Asia.

Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Pakistan raises the following points for the benefit of the Muslims in Pakistan in general, and their armed forces in particular:

1. The misinformation about Hizb ut Tahrir in the press conference is deliberate. The regime is lying about Hizb ut Tahir being a militant organization, to manufacture an excuse to arrest, torture and persecute the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahir, several of whom are missing even today. This is because Hizb ut Tahir is running a political campaign against the Asim-Shahbaz regime for its servitude to the tyrant Trump. Hizb ut Tahir is especially opposed to Asim-Shahbaz regime’s willingness to send Pakistan’s Muslim armed forces to serve under American command, reporting to an American General, under the banner of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza. Asim-Shahbaz regime’s collaboration with Trump against Muslims of Gaza is a grave crime against the Ummah and a betrayal of the people of Gaza. Islam demands that Pakistan’s armed forces mobilize in Jihad to liberate Gaza and Palestine from the Jewish entity’s occupation. Hizb ut Tahir has been at the forefront of reminding Pakistan’s armed forces of their Shariah responsibility towards the Muslims of Gaza. Asim-Shahbaz regime seeks to silence the Hizb and hence is resorting to lying and slander against it.

2. Asim-Shahbaz regime’s motive for increasing misinformation about Hizb ut Tahrir is a result of a global policy against the Hizb spearheaded by US and UK. The West, especially, the Trump administration has expanded the scope of counter-terrorism, beyond militancy, to include political Islam. It now specifically targets “radical Islam,” “Islamist ideology” and the re-establishment of the Khilafah. On 21 December 2026, the United States Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, warned, “this Islamist ideology is a direct threat to our freedom because at its core it is a political ideology that seeks to create a global caliphate.” Thus, the Trump administration, and its agents in the Muslim World, are persecuting even non-violent Islamic movements which advocate a political vision for the Muslim Ummah, which calls for Muslim unity under the Khilafah.

Hizb ut Tahrir has repeatedly clarified its position on militancy. The Hizb believes in political struggle and intellectual conflict to reform the society and prepare it for the establishment of ruling by Islam. The Hizb does not seek to reach rule and authority through armed struggle. The Hizb has restricted itself to the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (saw) who assumed power and authority in Madinah through seeking nussrah (military support) from the people of military protection and prevention for establishing Islam in ruling. Thus the Hizb has called Pakistan’s armed forces to provide nussrah for the establishment of Khilafah and assume the honor of following in the footsteps of the noble Ansar whom Allah (swt) praised in the Quran and whom RasulAllah (saw) honored through his ahadith. The Ansar earned this honor by providing their nussrah for establishing the first Islamic State and a similar reward awaits those officers of Pakistan’s armed forces, who overthrow the current regime, by providing nussrah to Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the Second Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood in Pakistan.

[يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ اسْتَجِيبُواْ لِلّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُم لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ وَاعْلَمُواْ أَنَّ اللّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ]

“O you who have believed, respond to Allah and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allah intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.” [TMQ Surah Al-Anfal:24]
