Press Release
The People Want the Overthrow of the Regime and the Establishment of the Islamic Rule
(Translated)
Aden, the temporary capital of the Yemeni government, has witnessed three protests by women and men in the past two weeks. Due to the ongoing suffering of the people, angry marches took place in Aden, demanding the provision of basic services and denouncing the difficult living conditions and poor services. These marches included slogans against the Arab coalition, the Yemeni government, and the Transitional Council, which controls the temporary capital, Aden. These demonstrations also witnessed gunfire and the arrest of some demonstrators. These marches were held by women and men on different days. What was striking was the return of the slogan "The people want the overthrow of the regime," which reminds us of the Arab Spring revolutions against oppression and tyranny.
The reasons for the revolution against the current regime in Yemen are greater than the reasons for the 2011 revolution. The living conditions are much worse, injustice and bloodshed continue, and the rule of what Allah has revealed remains suspended. It was only natural for people to realize that the regime has not changed, that the secular republican system is still in place, and that we must truly return to the idea that the people want to bring down the regime. However, this time there must be a successful and honest alternative project so that efforts and blood are not wasted, and revolutions are not diverted and exploited by a handful of agents of the kaffir West, which has led to this extremely bad reality.
Therefore, we must explain why the Arab Spring revolutions that began in 2011 did not change the people's conditions, but rather worsened them. The most important reason is that the kaffir West, through its agents, hijacked the revolution, derailed its course, worked to exclude the sincere and aware people, and brought back the regimes that the people revolted against through the back door, but with an even uglier and more criminal face, in order to achieve two goals: the first: to continue controlling Muslim countries by continuing to exclude Islam from the reality of life, and the second: to make people averse to the idea of working for change and even submit to the status quo. The worsening conditions after the revolutions are a punishment for people for rising up against the agents of the West. Today, the scene in the countries where people revolted against injustice and darkness has not settled, because people's awareness has risen, making the deception of the kuffar and their schemes difficult. The solution is for Muslims to rally around their Deen, as it is the only way out for them to attain the best of this world and the Hereafter. This rallying must be around a leadership and a bloc that works for Islam, not linked to either the East or the West, but rather holding on to the rope of Allah and exist among you and with you. It is Hizb ut Tahrir.
After the collapse of the Ottoman Caliphate, Muslims in Yemen lived under various man-made systems. They tried the various ideologies and found nothing but misery, destruction, killing, and looting, whether socialism or capitalism, which the world today is bearing its brunt. Islam alone possesses the radical solution to all man’s problems through genuine treatments for various aspects of economic, political, and social life. It is a revelation from the Allah (swt), the Creator. Muslims and others have lived under its justice in peace and tranquility for centuries. Do we realize today that the solutions to our problems lie in the rulings of Islam? Do we realize that these rulings regulate the distribution of wealth, regulate the types of property, and regulate the method of holding rulers accountable if they commit injustice or error? Do Muslims not realize that their Deen has made holding rulers accountable one of the greatest forms of jihad? It has guaranteed them the right to express their opinions and denounce their shortcomings, and has guaranteed them basic needs that the state must provide, and hold accountable those who fail to meet them? Islam has left no small or great matter without establishing a legal ruling for it, and there is no human problem without providing a correct solution for it. Unfortunately, these rulings have been hidden from Muslims, leaving them to suffer under the oppression of the kufr (disbelief) and unjust systems, losing this world and the Hereafter.
O people of belief and wisdom: Hizb ut Tahrir invites and urges you to work seriously and sincerely to overthrow these regimes and establish the rule of Islam on their ruins. For this purpose, it has prepared a constitution containing articles and laws derived from the rulings of your Deen that address the problems of life so that you attain happiness in this world and the Hereafter. We do not say this out of fantasies, but rather we work among and with the Ummah. We have prepared a comprehensive methodology derived from the law of our Lord. Above all, we believe in the promise of Allah, the Exalted, and are reassured that Allah will support His Deen.
