O Muslims, Put an End to the Chaos in the World by Having Tawakkul in Allah (swt) and His Shariah and Work for the Khilafah

Since the destruction of the Khilafah (Caliphate) in 1924, every corner of the world has continually been in chaos. This is despite the fact that there has been progress in technology, medicine, agriculture, military, and seemingly progress in politics and in creating equal rights between the races and sexes. We have been hoodwinked into believing that the very system that tells us we do not need to look to the Quran and Sunnah (i.e., the separation of church and state), but rather to a man-made system (i.e., democracy) based on human desires, and an economic system (i.e., capitalism) based on riba that puts the majority of wealth in the hands of a few to guide all of our life’s affairs. We should sit back and reflect on why all of these crises are perpetually happening and with each attempt to “solve” them, matters become worse, or new crises are created regardless of how much advancements we seem to make. On deep examination, it becomes obvious that these crises are not from nature, accidents, or organically occurring in society, but by design of those who took control over the world and forced the system of secular capitalism from East to West.

In the Muslim world, when our shield was taken away, we were forced to live under brutal dictators, illegitimate monarchs, presidents, and prime ministers. We were forced to live under abject poverty, the wastage and theft of natural resources, the dissolving of educational and medical institutions that were once the centers of progress and superior healthcare, the disintegration of the relationships between husband and wife; parents and children with the introduction of feminism, individualism, and LGBTQ+, the constant violence, and a never-ending refugee crisis that has plagued us since we were divided into nation states. They took away our lens on how to conduct our life’s affairs by replacing halal and haram with the capitalist concept of benefit and harm.

Yet, even in the United States, with all its power, money, and ever-changing laws meant to be inclusive and progressive; the chaos and crises never end. Despite the outcry by the public and government officials over George Floyd, black people in America are still murdered and incarcerated at a greater number than any other race, or ethnic group. Despite the promises of Biden and Democrats to help those wishing to escape poverty and violence to live in the United States, migrants are still being locked in prisons facing deportation. Despite the feminist movement, women in America still face income inequality, are still objectified, face rampant sexual assault, and are at a greater risk of living in poverty with their children. Despite gun laws, the United States has the highest level of gun violence amongst other rich nations that just keeps getting worse, as is evident with one of the latest school shootings where a 6 year old boy shot his teacher. Despite being one of the richest countries in the world, food insecurity is the norm for 34 million Americans, as well as, some who do not have indoor plumbing, access to education, healthcare, and clean water! Despite being heralded as the beacon of equality and democracy, the nation witnessed the infamous insurrection of 2021 that exposed the deep dissatisfaction and divisions that existed within the society.

Is this who we should be looking at to guide us? Is this not a sign for us that living under man made laws will bring us nothing except disorder and trauma.

How can we continue to look towards democracy, capitalism, and secularism to solve our problems when Allah (swt) has given us the rulings and the blueprint on how to implement it as laid out by our beloved Prophet Muhammed (saw) when he established the state in Madinah? Though it may seem like a monumental task, we must take inspiration from our Prophet (saw) and the Sahaba (ra) when they went head to head with not only the small pagan tribes, but with the superpowers of the day; the Romans and the Persians, who were much better off in numbers and military technology. However, what the Muslims lacked in numbers and technology, they made up for with something much more powerful; Iman and Tawakkul in Allah (swt). And Allah (swt) granted them victory over the oppressors of their time. They looked at the world through the lens of Islam and what guided them in their decisions was seeking the pleasure of Allah (swt). This is how they were able to make great strides in spreading Islam through the implementation of the Shariah and jihad fisabilillah via the Khilafah state.

We must take heed of these lessons and just as the Sahaba (ra) did, conceptualize our belief in Allah (swt) and be convinced that it is only through our trust in Him that we will be able to make the real change required of us to bring order and stability to the world. Through the Shariah, sent to us by our Creator, we have the most perfect and sufficient laws to solve all our affairs and any attempt to seek judgment from anything outside His Shariah is a trap of the Shaitan to lead us astray. Allah (swt) has bestowed His blessings upon us by perfecting His Deen for us and making us witnesses to humankind just as Prophet Muhammed (saw) was a witness over us.

“We have made you [believers] into a just community, so that you may bear witness [to the truth] before others and so that the Messenger may bear witness [to it] before you.”[TMQ: Al-Baqarah:143]

We need to look beyond ourselves as individuals and remember that Allah (swt) sent His Quran and His Shariah as a mercy to humankind. This requires the Ummah of Muhammed (saw) to revive itself through its firm conviction by resuming the Islamic way of life via the re-establishment of the Khilafah. The practical manifestation of the Shariah will undoubtedly serve as a beacon of light and a way out for a world that is surrounded by the darkness and chaos of Capitalism. Through the Khilafah state, standing behind a just Khalifah (Caliph), the Ummah will be ready to use all of its resources to take Islam to the world.
