No Salvation for our People in Sudan
Nor Security or Safety except under the System of Islam
(Translated)
Throughout history, the multiplicity of tribes in Sudan was never the cause of conflict and warfare. Rather, what caused this was the intense political and military struggle between colonial states and their agents, which destroyed crops and offspring, especially after they divided the country and sowed the seeds of tribal and chauvinistic strife and fighting, exactly as is happening today and precisely as occurred during the first days of Jahiliyyah. Since Islam disappeared and its state was demolished, people returned to the rulings of ignorance, fighting on the basis of tribalism, which the Messenger (saw) prohibited and warned against severely, as he said: «مَنْ قَاتَلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ يَدْعُو إِلَى عَصَبِيَّةٍ أَوْ يَغْضَبُ لِعَصَبِيَّةٍ فَقِتْلَتُهُ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ» “Whoever fights under a blind (tribal) banner, becoming angry for tribalism, calling to tribalism, or supporting tribalism, and is killed, then his killing is that of the days of ignorance.”
Therefore, the people of Sudan must realize that the existing political milieu, which lacks an aware political idea and is linked to the kuffar West, is the cause of crises and problems. This is a result of political polarization based on the abhorrent tribal foundation, as successive governments have used tribes as fuel for their conflicts. They followed the path of parties in tribal polarization. What happened and is happening in Darfur is the clearest example of this, when some tribes sided with the rebellious armed movements, prompting the government in turn to arm the tribes loyal to it and use them to fight the rebels. Upon this approach, successive governments dealt with all the regions of Sudan, creating a state of tension and apprehension in all areas, until the whole country became a barrel of gunpowder ready to explode at any moment. Meanwhile, the only losers in this savage tribal conflict and fighting are the people of the country themselves. They continue to pay a high price in their blood and lives. Sadly, they are nothing but cheap tools used to kill each other!
Islam has greatly sanctified the blood of a Muslim, for Allah Almighty said:
[وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِناً مُّتَعَمِّداً فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِداً فِيهَا وَغَضِبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَعَنَهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُ عَذَاباً عَظِيماً]
“But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment.” [An-Nisa:93]. And the Messenger (saw) said: «لَزَوَالُ الدُّنْيَا أَهْوَنُ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ قَتْلِ مُؤْمِنٍ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ»“The demise of the entire world is less significant before Allah than the killing of a believer without right.” And he (saw) also said: «إِذَا الْتَقَى الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا فَالْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ فِي النَّارِ»“If two Muslims meet each other with their swords, then both the killer and the killed are in the Fire.”
So where are we in following the Messenger (saw)? And where are we in referring to the Book of Allah Almighty who said:
[يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنثَى وَجَعَلْنَاكُمْ شُعُوباً وَقَبَائِلَ لِتَعَارَفُوا إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ]
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” [Al-Hujurat:13].
Thus, we must strive to stop the ongoing bleeding of our blood and halt the plan of the kufar West by following the commands of Allah and His Messenger — that is, by ruling by Islam. Only this will stop tribal fighting, stabilize conditions, and end the tampering with the lives of innocents by returning to Islam and abolishing everything that contradicts it.
However, Islam cannot be established except by authority, meaning by a state that implements it and carries it to the world by da’wah and jihad, which is the second Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood. In it, ruling is a responsibility, not spoils, undertaking the duty of care from health, education, security, enabling people to farm and manufacture, and opening grazing paths so that friction does not occur between farmers and herders. Thus, it cuts off the hands of the mischief-makers without hesitation and ends all manifestations of killing, burning, and looting by applying hudood (punishment laws) on those who break the law.
The Khilafah state alone is capable of melting people together as one Ummah on the basis of the great Islam, not on the basis of racism, tribalism, or nationalism. It rules by the laws of Islam and its authority, that authority which united the Muslims and made them loving brothers in Allah, uniting Abu Bakr the Arab, Bilal al-Habashi, Salman al-Faresi (Persian), Suhaib the Roman, Hamza the Qurayshi, and Mu’adh the Ansari...
Indeed, this great Islam is the only one throughout human history that melted peoples, races, and tribes into one Ummah. It was not confined to Madinah but spread throughout the Arab Peninsula. The Islamic conquests spread Islam: Muslims opened Iraq, inhabited by Christians, Mazdakites, Zoroastrians of Arabs and Persians; opened Persia inhabited by non-Arabs, Jews, Romans; opened the Levant (ash-Sham) a Roman province inhabited by Syrians, Armenians, Romans, Arabs; opened North Africa of Berbers; opened Sindh, Khwarezm, Samarkand, and Andalusia — melting all these peoples into one Ummah with no distinction. The light of Islam spread across the world in a short time because Islam commands looking at subjects humanely, not with racism, sectarianism, or denominationalism. Islam’s laws applied to everyone, so all became citizens of the Islamic State, no difference between Muslim and non-Muslim, and no one wronged another. If it happened, Islam deterred and punished it, for Allah (swt) said:
[وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى]
“And let not the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness.” [Al-Ma’idah:8].
All are equal before the judiciary, and the ruling system mandates unity among the state’s regions and ensures each province’s needs regardless of its revenues to the Treasury, making fusion inevitable among all the state’s people.
Thus, it is obligatory upon every Muslim man and woman to work to establish this great absent obligation, the edifice of the Khilafah Rashidah on the method of the Prophethood.
[إِنَّ هَذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ]
“Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.” [Al-Anbiya:92]
