Recently, the President of the Islamic Party of Malaysia (PAS), Tuan Guru Haji Hadi Awang (TGHH) was severely criticized for participating in the 30th International Islamic Unity Conference which was held in Tehran from the 15th to 17th December 2016. The event, which was organized by the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST), was entitled "The Unity and Necessity of Countering Takfiri Currents”.
