US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday, May 23, 2026, that an agreement with Iran had been nearly finalized, stating, “An agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalisation.” He added that he had a “very good call” with leaders and officials in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain regarding Iran. This came hours after an Iranian official revealed to Al Jazeera that a memorandum of understanding had been reached with the Pakistani mediator, but that Tehran was awaiting the American response. The official indicated that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir was scheduled to announce the memorandum of understanding in Tehran, but had left to coordinate with Washington (Al Jazeera Net).
Comment:
America would not have been able to reach an agreement, or even a semblance of one, with Iran that allowed the US to save face, were it not for the tireless efforts of Pakistan's rulers and military commanders, most notably Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the commander of Pakistan’s nuclear forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir. They worked day and night, shuttling back and forth to Tehran to deliver American messages, employing both cunning and coercion to force Iran to accept any agreement with America that would extricate it from the predicament it had created for itself. Thus, the curtain falls on a new chapter of treachery, recorded in the annals of the Pakistani regime, which has always considered itself a subservient and obedient agent of its master in the White House, from Zia-ul-Haq, through the Sharif brothers, then Musharraf sons and Kayani, to the Sharif brothers again today, along with Asim Munir.
Although these agents within the Pakistani leadership have lost all shame before Allah (swt) and His servants by playing this despicable role—repeating what they did with the Taliban in Afghanistan, and under the guise of peace, handing Afghanistan, the graveyard of empires, over to America on a silver platter—they are now offering the land of Imam Muslim and Bukhari on the same platter to the head of disbelief and the leader of the Crusader alliance, America. Despite their brazenness and shamelessness, these traitors dare not admit that they are indeed carrying out a vile act. Instead, they claim to be performing a noble deed: halting the unjust war and reconciling the parties. They aid this deception with the help of government ulema who have promoted this lie and sinned by failing to hold these rulers accountable, and with the help of mercenary media men and influential figures who have sold their Ummah for a pittance.
In order to make things clear on this important point, and so that those who live may live with clear evidence, and those who perish may perish with clear evidence, we say: The reconciliation between people that is praiseworthy and obligatory for Muslims to undertake is reconciliation between believers, explicitly and justly, in accordance with the saying of Allah (swt) Who said,
[وَإِنْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ اقْتَتَلُوا فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَهُمَا]
“And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make peace between them” [TMQ Surah Al-Hujarat: 9]. So, the ruling on reconciliation between people is between believers, and not between believers and disbelievers; that is, striving to reconcile between people is when the fighting is between two groups of believers, and not between a group of believers and another group of disbelievers. Ironically, while the regime and its mouthpieces claim to be fulfilling their Shariah obligation of reconciliation, they have conveniently ignored this principle in their attempts to reconcile the factions of Muslims with Pakistan Army, and the Taliban along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Instead, they have launched successive military campaigns to pursue and kill the Muslims of Taliban.
The Islamic Shariah ruling that applies to the conflict between America and Muslims in the lands of Imam Muslim and Bukhari is found in the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) who said,
«انْصُرْ أَخَاكَ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا» “Support your brother, whether he is an oppressor or oppressed.” (Bukhari). Therefore, the Shariah obligation upon the people of Pakistan and the rest of the Muslim World is to support their oppressed brethren.
The state of Pakistan’s political rulers and military commanders is like that of the rest of the rulers and commanders of Muslims in all Muslim lands; their primary function is to serve the disbelieving colonialist, to undermine the Islamic Ummah in every crisis, and to abandon the Islamic Ummah in every situation. Just as they abandoned the people of the Blessed Land of Palestine in their struggle against the enemy of Allah (swt) and their enemy, the Jews, they have abandoned the Muslims in Iran. They will never support Muslims in any crisis, past or present, nor can any good or righteousness be expected from them in the future. Therefore, the Shariah obligation incumbent upon the Islamic Ummah is to overthrow these rulers and replace them with a Khaleefah (Caliph) of Muslims who will champion Islam and the Muslims, fighting alongside them and seeking their protection. Failure to fulfill this Shariah obligation will keep the Islamic Ummah subjugated under the humiliation of the disbelieving colonialist. Therefore, ulema and influential figures must call for this, and for this reason, the sincere amongst the people of military power and protection (أهل القوة والمنعة ahl ul-quwwah wal man'ah) in the Muslim armies must give their nussrah (نصرة military support) to Hizb ut Tahrir (حزب التحرير Party of Liberation) to establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood, which will bring victory to Islam and the Muslims and unify the Ummah under the banner of Tawhid. Allah (swt) said:
﴿إِنَّ اللَّهَ اشْتَرَى مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللَّهِ فَاسْتَبْشِرُوا بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُمْ بِهِ وَذَلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ﴾
“Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth in exchange for Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. It is a true promise binding upon Him in the Torah, the Injeel, and the Quran. And who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted, and that is the supreme triumph” [TMQ Surah At-Tawbah: 111].
