The Situation Is Ripe for the Muslims in Britain to Carry the Dawah to Islam, Fearing None but Allah (swt)

A masked thug was caught on CCTV unleashing a terrifying arson attack on the family home of a community imam. Horrifying footage shows the man lighting a fire in front of the house before smashing a front window and spraying the flames inside with a can of propellant. The attacker, wearing a black helmet and tracksuit, is then seen running away from the scene in the Sharples suburb of Bolton. (Daily Mail)

It’s not an isolated event, it’s a trend, with the rise in right-wing racism, right under the nose of the British establishment. It is sad to see what the British establishment is allowing to be done to Muslims, may Allah (swt) protect them. Sad to see but not a surprise. Just look at its history in the colonies, including the famines it caused during the era of the British Raj in the Indian Subcontinent, in which 35 million died after starvation. It lies about its history, as if its brutality was a very long time ago, and it’s changed. It hasn’t.

How did Muslims end up in Britain in the first place? The British establishment faced rebellions all over its empire, and after a mauling by the Germans, it used hypocritical smiles to get what it needed from the Muslims. Having lost many of its men in the Second World War, and even after sending women out of their homes and into factories, it needed cheap labor from its former colonies. So, it took the hard-working Muslims in, facilitating their immigration.

However, now the British establishment doesn’t need Muslims as it once did, whilst facing popular discontent over painful rises in unemployment. The overall unemployment rate across all age groups is 5%, but for those aged 16-24 it is 16.2% – up from 14.2% a year ago, and one of the highest in Europe. Analysing survey data, including from the Office for National Statistics, the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) said 16- to 21-year-olds were less confident about being successful than a decade ago. Just one in four 16- to 29-year-olds agreed with the statement that “everyone has a fair chance to go as far as their talent and hard work will take them.”

After Trump extracted twelve trillion dollars from the Gulf, the British have indeed fallen on hard times. Times are changing, and so are policies, naturally. The British establishment is sending a message to the Muslims under its guardianship: “Be ‘more royal than the King’ or face a tough time as the masks, and gloves, come off.”

As for our response, hardship is always an opportunity for the believers to shine. It’s one of the Ways (سنن sunan) of Allah (swt). It’s time for us to engage with our neighbors, colleagues and batch-mates, regarding the great Deen of Islam. The situation is ripe for our Dawah. Most non-Muslims are not part of the establishment itself; they are victims of its media and political propaganda. Yet, despite the lies and misinformation, many non-Muslims are receptive to Islam, and quiet a few embrace Islam, weekly.

Indeed, Allah (swt) did wake many people up through the trial of Gaza. Fair-minded non-Muslims are horrified at what the British establishment is doing. Some are even questioning Western values and the Western order as a consequence. Let’s raise our voices for reward in the Aakhirah. Islam is not a danger to the Western people. Islam is a relief and mercy for those who are tired of the harms of secularism, nationalism, liberalism and capitalism. Let us confirm for those searching for the truth, what only a few Western thinkers and intellectuals are beginning to realize: Western civilization has failed, and its chief advocate, the US, is in decline. More than this, let us present the great Deen of Islam as the truthful Aqeedah, that convinces the mind and brings tranquility to the heart, and as a system of Shariah rulings that guides humanity in all aspects of living. Allah (swt) says, [وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ]“And We have not sent you, O Muhammad, except as a mercy to all creations” [TMQ Surah Al-Anbiyyaa’:107].
