بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
On July 1, 2026, the composition of the Syrian People’s Assembly was finalized through the issuance of presidential appointments covering seventy of the 210 members. The remaining two-thirds of the members had been selected via local electoral bodies appointed by the transitional government—rather than through direct elections—in accordance with the 2025 Constitutional Declaration governing legislative authority during the transitional period. This selection mechanism, as well as the appointment of certain members, sparked widespread discontent, particularly among the general public.
However, the most critical issue requiring attention is that this People's Assembly—and others like it—is a product of the democratic system, which vests the right to legislate in the people. Members of such assemblies ratify the constitution and laws presented to them; this constitutes opposition to the Shariah of Allah (swt) and His ruling governance, as it involves choosing man-made laws or ratifying legislation submitted to the assembly. All arguments advanced to justify this—citing public interest, the “lesser of two evils,” and the like—hold no weight according to Shariah. Were immense sacrifices made and pure blood shed merely to entrench a man-made system that incurs the Wrath of Allah (swt)? Or were these sacrifices offered for the sake of Allah (swt), and to establish His ruling governance—Glory be to Him—upon the earth?
Furthermore, in Muslim countries, these assemblies are essentially facades for a sham democracy. Their function is to rubber-stamp the policies of rulers who have placed themselves at the service of colonialist powers to advance the latter’s interests; they serve merely to burnish the rulers' image and create the illusion that their legitimacy derives from the consent of the people. The presence of structures or figures known for their Islamic orientation within these assemblies does not alter their fundamental nature—even if they oppose the laws, treaties, or agreements submitted for ratification—because such measures are ultimately approved by a majority vote.
More dangerous still is that these members have consented to position themselves as arbiters over the Shariah rulings of Allah (swt), deciding which are suitable and which are not!
One of the most perilous policies is the pursuit of foreign support and the approval of major powers, while turning one’s back on the revolutionary base that proved its effectiveness during times of crisis and hardship. The immediate consequence of this policy is a betrayal of the slogans, goals, and fundamental principles championed prior to the fall of the defunct criminal regime. The painful outcome is the preservation of the old regime’s structure—when it should have been radically transformed—instead of implementing a system that pleases Allah (swt), with a constitution and laws derived solely from Islamic Aqeedah (doctrine), without regard for any other consideration.
Major political catastrophes resulting from the policy of submission to America—which harbors deep hostility toward Islam and Muslims—are looming. These have already become clearly evident in the decision by the current transitional administration in Damascus, on November 10, 2025, to join the international coalition against “terrorism.” This includes agreeing to US-sponsored security negotiations with the Jewish entity to establish a communication channel aimed at avoiding military friction at the border and de-escalating tensions, while ignoring—and failing to respond to—that entity’s aggressions and incursions into Syrian territory, all under the pretext of avoiding a “losing war,” as they claim. Critical issues await ratification by the upcoming People's Assembly. The role of its members will amount to little more than acting as false witnesses before the public; they will be used to deceive the people and public opinion into believing that the outcome reflects the “will of the people,” rather than the demands of the state and its rulers, driven by American pressure.
Among these critical political issues slated for Assembly ratification are the constitutional declaration, the entrenchment of a man-made constitution, and the preservation of the republican form of government—all of which run counter to the demands of the people of the Levant during their revolution for the establishment of a purely Islamic ruling governance.
Another grave issue is the matter of concluding agreements with the Jewish entity, recognizing it, and acknowledging its usurpation of our land and sanctities. We call upon all sincere individuals to oppose and categorically reject this, and to prepare to prevent it before it happens. The Jews occupy our lands, and a confrontation with them is inevitable; we must be fully prepared for it, without being misled by the pacifying promises marketed to us.
While the administration of the transitional phase has currently tempered its push to sign agreements with the Jewish entity, this is merely a temporary measure. The choice to pursue a policy of subservience and appeasement toward America hinders the ability to make independent decisions based on the country's actual interests.
Furthermore, the agreement signed between Lebanon and the Jewish entity on June 26, 2026—which serves as a political and security framework aimed at ending the confrontation, granting normalizing recognition, and paving the way for a broader settlement—sets a precedent that will likely be replicated in Syria, driven by American pressure and regional complicity. The country’s wealth is a coveted prize and a target for the United States and its corporations, which seek to seize control by securing concessions and pushing the nation toward free-market policies and privatization. This requires the People's Assembly—in its capacity as the legislative authority—to enact enabling laws and ratify relevant agreements, thereby placing our resources and wealth in the hands of our enemies. Furthermore, this serves as a gateway for imposing American hegemony across all sectors, paving the way for entrenched, absolute dependency and making it increasingly difficult to break free.
The dangers and challenges confronting us are immense. The solution lies not in cementing dependency or adopting man-made systems of governance, but in establishing the ruling governance ordained by Allah (swt)—the ruling governance of Islam. Through it alone can we resolve all our problems and attain honor, victory, and happiness in both this world and the Hereafter.
