The evil which is taking place in Yemen is clear for all to see. It has become a “living hell” for children, to put it in the words of Geert Cappelaere, the regional director for Unicef. A place where an estimated 130 children die every day from starvation and disease. The situation will most likely worsen, with intensifying fighting and a continuing blockade on the country’s ports of entry.

For some time, Pakistan’s successive regimes have been claiming that they are playing a “double game” with US, to quell anger over continual compromises of the interests of the Muslims of Pakistan, for the sake of fulfilling Washington’s demands. Irate public statements by the US, scolding Pakistani officials in relation to the Afghan war theatre and the issue of the Afghan Taliban, may create this impression.

On Saturday, the 20th October 2018, the parliamentary elections took place in Afghanistan. According to the report of the United Nation Assistant Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) 16 percent (417 persons) of the candidates were women and the current statistics from the Independent Election Commission (IEC) reported that women make up approximately 32 percent of total registered voters.
