Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan
Events and Activities During the Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 AH
Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan intensified its public activities during the holy month of Ramadan, urging the Ummah to work alongside it to establish the magnificent edifice of Islam: the Khilafah Rashidah (Rightly-Guided Caliphate) State upon the Method of the Prophethood—an institution that was dismantled 105 years ago. To this end, the party organized political addresses, lectures, and public gatherings in mosque courtyards, marketplaces, and other public venues, in addition to maintaining regular programs at its offices across various Sudanese cities. The following are examples of these activities:
In the city of Port Sudan, Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan established a tradition of holding weekly political addresses in the courtyard of the Al-Haramain Hotel, located within the Grand Market. During these addresses, speakers articulate the Hizb's stance on current events—both local and global—and present the Islamic ruling regarding each issue. The Hizb's most recent address during Ramadan was titled: "The Battle of Ain Jalut and the Return of Glory to the Muslims," delivered on Monday, March 16, 2026. During this event, Ustadh Adel Ibrahim—a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir—sought to galvanize the spirit of the Ummah, reminding the people that they are a nation with a divine mission and a nation of Mujahideen. He noted that whenever the bonds of the Ummah unravel and it becomes fragmented, great leaders emerge to first unify the Ummah, and then engage in battle—just as they fought the Tatars, inflicting upon them a crushing defeat. He highlighted the Battle of Ain Jalut—the subject of his address—as one of the greatest battles in the history of the Muslims.
Other addresses were delivered under titles such as: "Fasting: A Manifestation of Muslim Unity," "Shura: An Islamic Legal Ruling, Not a System of Governance," and others. Among the most notable activities was a stand held by members of Hizb ut Tahrir within the courtyard of the Grand Mosque in the city of Al-Ubayyid.
Organized as part of the events commemorating the anniversary of the abolition of the Caliphate, the gathering featured an address by Mr. Al-Nazeer Muhammad, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir. In his speech, he reminded the *Ummah* (the Muslim community) of the "Crown of Obligations"—the Caliphate—and the religious imperative to strive for its re-establishment. It was a powerful, resounding address that met with widespread acceptance and acclaim.
In the wake of this event, security agencies arrested four members of Hizb ut Tahrir and filed malicious charges against them under Article 69 of the Sudanese Penal Code (Disturbing Public Peace and Tranquility)—one of the most bizarre accusations ever recorded in police reports in Al-Ubayyid.
At the time, the official spokesperson for Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Sudan issued a press statement refuting the baselessness of these charges against these Shaban, whom he described as the standard-bearers of the call of the Prophets and Messengers. Furthermore, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, he held a press conference at his office in Port Sudan regarding the trials of the Shabab in Al-Ubayyid. During the conference, he accused the government of engaging in America’s war against Islam—waged under the pretext of "terrorism"—with a zeal exceeding even America's own expectations. He also drew attention to the shameful conduct of the Public Prosecution, the judiciary, and the security agencies regarding this Da'wah (call to Islam). The spokesperson remarked, "Such stances are not surprising; indeed, we have come to expect them from previous governments during the lean years of the past."
Another noteworthy activity was a Ramadan Iftar hosted at the Hizb's office in the city of Al-Qadarif. The event, organized by the members, was attended by a large gathering who had graciously accepted the invitation. This event took place on Friday, the 17th of Ramadan, 1447 AH. Following the Iftar, a lecture was delivered by Br. Maysara Yahya Muhammad Noor, a member of Hizb ut Tahrir. He discussed the events of the Battle of Badr, drawing lessons and insights from it, and highlighting the significance of its timing. His aim was to remind people that Ramadan is the month of obedience, fasting, night prayers (*Qiyam*), Jihad, and victories, emphasizing that victory is contingent upon responding to the command of Allah. He then addressed the current plight of Muslims—specifically the domination exerted over them by the Jews, backed by unlimited support from America and its proxies among Muslim rulers, as well as the "harmful regimes." Regarding these regimes, Sheikh Taqiuddin al-Nabhani (may Allah have mercy on him) once stated: "The entity of the Jews is merely the shadow of the Arab regimes; if the object itself vanishes, its shadow vanishes with it."
Meanwhile, in the city of Khartoum, the Shabab of Hizb ut Tahrir / Sudan Wilayah hosted a Ramadan Iftar gathering attended by prominent local figures. Mr. Abdullah Hussein, the Coordinator of the Central Communications Committee, delivered a speech emphasizing steadfastness to principles alongside the unity of the Ummah. He asserted that the re-establishment of the Islamic Caliphate is one of the most obligatory duties in this era, and that the Ummah requires scholars who, in upholding the truth, fear the blame of no one. He concluded by calling for collective action alongside those striving to resume the Islamic way of life.
The monthly forum—held on the 18th of Ramadan, 1447 AH (corresponding to March 7, 2026 CE)—was organized by the Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir / Sudan Wilayah at its premises in Port Sudan. Speakers at the forum analyzed the ongoing American-British conflict in Sudan, focusing on American hegemony over the war dossier—specifically its role in prolonging the conflict—and the various tools employed within this struggle. They also exposed the fallacy of the "illusory truces" announced by America, arguing that these measures are not intended to resolve the problem, but rather to manage it. This strategy, they warned, has driven Sudan into a situation eerily similar to the Libyan scenario, thereby signaling a grave danger that this region could ultimately be severed from the rest of Sudan.
Furthermore, in the city of Al-Qadarif, the Party held its periodic forum during the month of Ramadan, focusing on "Developments in U.S. Efforts to Dismember Sudan and How to Thwart Them." During the event, the two speakers reviewed the European-American conflict over influence within the country. They issued a clear warning regarding U.S. endeavors to separate Darfur—specifically by enabling the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to seize control of the entire Darfur region while curtailing the Army's operations to reclaim it—as a prelude to completing its eventual secession. The Party also directed messages to the sincere sons and daughters of the Ummah, urging them not to allow America to dismember Sudan, just as it had previously orchestrated the separation of the South.
These were but a few of the events—among many others—held across various cities in Sudan.
The activities culminated with the performance of the Eid prayer, led by a number of dawah carriers. In the city of Port Sudan, Ustadh Yaqoub Ibrahim addressed the worshippers in the Yathrib district, reminding them of the unity of the Ummah and the uniformity of its rituals and rites. He noted that the discrepancies in the timing of fasting and Eid celebrations among Muslims stem from the absence of the Caliphate—the unifying entity that binds the Ummah together. He exhorted Muslims—men, women, and youth alike—to join forces with those striving to establish the Rightly-Guided Caliphate upon the method of the Prophethood.
Concurrently, Ustadh Adel led the Eid prayer as Imam in the Yathrib district of Port Sudan, while Abdullah Hussein led the congregation in the Al-Dukhainat area of Khartoum; similar prayers were led by other dawah carriers in various cities throughout Sudan.
May Allah grant aid to the memers of Hizb ut Tahrir as they labor tirelessly—weaving night into day—diligently working to enlighten the Ummah regarding the conspiracies being hatched against it. They work ceaselessly within the Ummah and alongside it, seeking victory solely from Allah; and indeed, that is not difficult for Allah.
