Hizb-ut Tahrir / Wilayah Türkiye Holds “Gaza on the Third Anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood” Conference in Diyarbakir

As Hizb-ut Tahrir / Wilayah Türkiye, we held our conference titled “Gaza on the Third Anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood" in Diyarbakir, was held with strong participation from local residents, representatives of civil society organizations, and Islamic scholars.

The event took place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Selahaddin Eyyubi Mosque Conference Hall. The program began with an introduction by Mehmet Kaya, followed by a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Hafiz Cemal Yigit. The conference examined the background of the genocide in Gaza, the objectives of the occupying Zionist entity, and the problem of the Muslim lands being left without unified leadership.

Speakers at the conference emphasized that the issue of Gaza is neither a national cause nor merely a matter of humanitarian assistance, but rather a cause directly concerning Islam. They underlined that the path to a solution lies not through Western institutions, but through the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

Burhan Ercan: “The Solution Is Not the Fairy Tale of Two States, but an Islamic Army!”

Burhan Ercan, the Diyarbakir Representative of Köklü Degisim, began his speech by stating that Gaza has been subjected to occupation for 79 years and to a brutal genocide over the past three years.

Ercan stated that the lands of Jerusalem and Gaza are neither a “shared holy land of three religions,” as those who seek to mislead people claim, nor a territory where a “two-state solution” involving coexistence with the Zionists can be established.

He made the following remarks:

“This is the land of Al-Aqsa Mosque, our first Qibla, and the land of the Isra and Mi'raj (the Night Journey and Ascension). These lands were governed in peace and with the justice of Islam for approximately 400 years under the Ottoman Caliphate.

Following the destruction of the Caliphate by the colonialist disbelievers, oppression has never ceased.

The issue of Gaza and Palestine is an Islamic issue. The occupation will not end through the embellished promises of international organizations, but only through an Islamic army capable of putting the occupiers in their place.”

Molla Tayyip Elci: “Nation-States Have Divided Us and Sown Discord Among Us”

Molla Tayyip Elci, President of the Madrasa Scholars Foundation, stated that Muslims are experiencing humiliation in the face of the atrocities taking place in Gaza. He emphasized that the fundamental turning point was the fragmentation of the Muslim Ummah.

In his speech, Elci stated:
“While our brothers and sisters in Gaza struggle with the fervor of faith, we are experiencing humiliation here.
When did we lose our strength?
The nation-states established following the abolition of the Caliphate divided us and sowed discord among us, separating Muslims from one another. The Ummah was torn apart.
Liberation from this humiliation is only possible when the Ummah once again unites around a Caliph.”

Ramazan Tekdemir: “The Greatest Problem Facing the Islamic Ummah Is the Absence of Leadership”

Ramazan Tekdemir, Diyarbakir Provincial President of Memur-Sen, drew attention to the desperate situation in which even the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza is being obstructed.

He emphasized that while Zionists are willing to risk everything for the sake of their false beliefs, Muslims are suffering from a lack of determination and political will.

Tekdemir stated:

“The greatest problem facing the Islamic Ummah today is the problem of being without leadership.
Muslims have lost their own identities under the rule of the states in which they live.
Instead of waiting for a savior, we must act upon the responsibilities that fall upon us and take steps in accordance with the principles of Islam.”

Molla Sadullah Ergün: “The 57 Muslim Countries Are Merely Watching”

Recalling the Islamic responsibility demonstrated by Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi when he liberated Jerusalem from occupation in 1187, Molla Sadullah Ergün criticized the silence of today's rulers.

He stated:

“In the face of this genocide, the time has come not for condemnation, but for action.
While we are speaking here, the Zionists continue their massacres.
Yet the rulers of 57 Muslim countries have failed to demonstrate any effective determination in the face of these atrocities.
The borders drawn between us by the colonialists and the agents they left behind have divided us.
Salvation lies in returning once again to the Qur’an.”

Mahmut Kar: “Like Salahuddin, We Must Put Them in Their Place on the Battlefield of Jihad”

Delivering the closing speech of the conference, Mahmut Kar, Head of the Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey, drew attention to the historical significance and consciousness connecting the Al-Aqsa Flood operation of October 7 with Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi’s liberation of Jerusalem on October 2.

Addressing Muslim armies and rulers, Kar made the following remarks:

“As long as Gaza remains under occupation, Baghdad, Diyarbakir, and Istanbul also remain under the shadow of occupation.
We cannot stand idle! We cannot remain silent!
We are obliged to remind the rulers and army commanders of the Muslims of the truth.
When Netanyahu threatened Islamic leaders from the podium of the United Nations, they did not utter a single word.
Yet during the Crusader occupation, Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi put those disbelievers in their place on the battlefield of jihad.”

The conference, which attracted significant interest from the people of Diyarbakir, concluded with prayers and a renewed emphasis on the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
