On Friday 5th June 2020, Facebook once again unjustly closed down the English page of the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir with no valid justification. This is the third time the Facebook administration has taken this move, having failed to provide us any reason for their previous closure of our pages, even though requested.

On the 30th May 2020, the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir published a significant booklet entitled, “Beijing+25: Has the Mask of Gender Equality Fallen?” It is the outcome of a global campaign and international online conference organized in March and April this year to examine the narratives promoted by the United Nation’s (UN) 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (BPfA)

On Tuesday the 12th May 2020, gunmen stormed a maternity hospital in the western part of the Afghan capital Kabul, beginning an hour-long shoot-out with the police and killing 24 people, including newborn babies, their mothers and an unspecified number of nurses. The attackers had walked straight past a number of other wards, all closer to the entrance of Kabul's Dasht-e-Barchi hospital, and made straight for the maternity unit.

On Friday 29th November, Facebook unjustly closed down the official English page of the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir: Women & Shariah, without any valid justification for their action. The account had over 40,000 likes and followers, with some of its posts enjoying a reach of almost half a million people
